If you are considering making your home more energy efficient with a heat pump, you can apply for a grant through SEAI. To qualify for the grant you must undertake a technical assessment. This is to determine if your home is suitable for a heat pump. The technical assessment will have to show that your home has a HLI of 2 or below to qualify for the Heat Pump Grant. If your home’s HLI is above 2, heat is being lost through the roof and walls and you will need to make changes to the fabric of your building in order to qualify. A technical assessment will start you on your energy efficient journey.

SEAI endorse a fabric (walls, roof and floors) first approach. If you are applying for a heat pump grant you will receive a €200 grant towards your technical assessment. If you are availing of the One Stop Shop grant service you will receive a grant of €350 towards your technical assessment.
